Happy Diwali!

To celebrate the festival of lights, our under 2s were kindly joined by one of our parents who helped us paint some beautiful firework pictures. We used our hands & brushes to create bright, swirling patterns, just like fireworks lighting up the night sky! Meanwhile, pre-school watched a film about the festival of lights & all about what happens for Diwali & why it’s celebrated. They then made a giant Diva lamp picture and Rangoli patterns using chickpeas, kidney beans & green lentils. For lunch, Mitali treated us to a traditional vegetable curry. Pre-school also walked to the local Indian supermarket to get some food tasters. We chose vegetable samosas & Khaman Dhokla (a Steamed chickpea cake). Delicious!
